Our architectural design process is incremental and flexible so you can do and pay for only what you want. The proposal is based on an hourly rate, with a time range established for each phase of the design process. If we develop a design solution together quickly, then we should be at the lower end of the range. If we explore more options or go into more detail with the design, then this will require more time and cost. We will keep you apprised of the time spent along the way, allowing you to prioritize what’s important to you and decide when you may want to wrap things up. Should you decide to continue, that is completely at your discretion. Since every project is different and every client is unique, we feel that this is the fairest way to handle the unknown that is inherent in the architectural design process. Upon design completion, the documents that we provide can be used to solicit a preliminary budgetary estimate from a builder, receive input and direction from the local governing agency, and be used as the basis of producing the construction drawings.
